grief/loss, PTSD/trauma, career/life transitions, medical/health concerns,
domestic violence, alcohol/drug abuse, and sexual minorities. Contracts
with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Managed Health Network and Child Welfare
Services. April 1998 to present.
LifeWorks Northwest. Bilingual mental health counselor,
medical social worker and clinical supervisor. Developed and implemented
a new mental health services program in the Virginia Primary Care Garcia
Memorial Health Center under a United Way Special Projects Grant in
order to increase utilization of mental health services among Latinos
and immigrants. Supervised advanced MSW student interns and master’s
level therapists toward LCSW licensure. September 2004 to present.
Oregon
Health Sciences University Hospital. Provided psychosocial,
alcohol/drug, mental health evaluations and case management in emergency,
psychiatric, pediatrics, adult, mother/baby, and oncology units. Provided
crisis intervention, community advocacy and referrals to patients and
families. Provided consultation, treatment recommendations and support
to hospital medical staff. May 2000 to August 2003. Presently on-call.
